New Construction
| To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes. Currently, a new energy efficient home that achieves 50% energy savings for heating and cooling over the 2004 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and supplements is eligible for tax credits. At least 1/5 of the energy savings must come from building envelope improvements. Go Green, NM can provide you with alternative UA compliance using ResCheck required by some local building codes. | ![]() |

How?
There are two types of ratings:
Go Green, NM begins by gathering details about your project including construction plans, window and door schedules and mechanical specifications to complete a projected rating. With a projected rating from Go Green, NM we can advise you on compliance with IECC Energy Codes, ASHRAE standards, HERS compliance with building programs, and status on tax incentives. If required, Go Green, NM will suggest cost effective improvements that will improve the performance your home. We work with you and your building schedule.
Once you begin construction Go Green, NM will begin to evaluate your installations that meet the requirements of the building program of your choice. Examples include an Energy Star thermal bypass inspection, and if required rough duct testing.
Prior to the final building inspection and issuance of the certificate of occupancy Go Green, NM will perform a confirmed rating. This includes final blower door and duct leakage testing. The confirmed rating will confirm the results of the projected rating and Go Green, NM will prepare the appropriate documentation required to comply with your building program, tax incentive, or local building code.
