To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes.  Go Green, NM can provide you with alternative UA compliance using ResCheck required by some NM local building codes.

How?

There are two types of ratings:

Go Green, NM begins by gathering details about your project including construction plans, window and door schedules and mechanical specifications to complete a projected rating. With a projected rating from Go Green, NM you will be advised on compliance with IECC Energy Codes and New Mexico residential energy codes, ASHRAE standards, HERS compliance with building programs, and status on tax incentives. If required, Go Green, NM will suggest cost effective improvements that will improve the performance your project. Our team works with you and your building schedule!

Once you begin construction Go Green, NM will evaluate your installations as a third party ensuring they quality of the install meets the requirements of the building program of your choice. Examples include an Energy Star, Build Green NM, LEED, local green codes etc.

Go Green, NM is a Builders Challenge Third-party Verifier Partner for the U.S. Department of Energy program that challenges America’s homebuilders to build 220,000 high performance homes into the marketplace by 2012.
